I personally think that Women’s health physios are the best thing since sliced bread! They are here to help you deal with some of your most intimate problems in the most supportive and compassionate way. Their role is to help you with any dysfunction with your pelvic floor, this could be prolapse, painful sex, leakage etc. They will perform an internal examination to asses your pelvic floor and will potentially give you a strength rating out of 5. They will help you to assess whether you are doing your pelvic floor exercises correctly. They can aid with rehab exercises, pessary suggestions (some can also fit pessaries), constipation tips etc. I think every woman should be able to see a women’s health physio before and after giving birth and I would recommend women consult a physio when entering the menopause too.
